Honduran man accused of shoving 2 onto NYC subway tracks was deported 4 times: DHS
"Bairon [Posada-Hernandez] is a serial criminal and four-time deported illegal alien from Honduras who should never have been able to walk our streets and harm innocent Americans. We are praying for the victims and their families. DHS is calling upon New York sanctuary politicians to commit to this ICE detainer and not release this heinous criminal back into New York communities."
"He sustained significant head injuries. He's on a respirator right now. He's not awake. He's not responding. We're praying for a miracle."
Bairon Posada-Hernandez, a homeless Honduran national, was arrested for allegedly pushing two men onto subway tracks at a Manhattan station on March 8. A 30-year-old man and an 83-year-old Air Force veteran, Richard Williams, were pushed in an unprovoked attack. Williams sustained severe head injuries and remains hospitalized on a ventilator. Posada-Hernandez has been deported four times previously and illegally re-entered the country a fifth time. He has an extensive criminal history including drug and domestic violence charges. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on him, requesting New York authorities not release him. DHS officials criticized sanctuary policies, stating he should never have been permitted in the country.
