He thought he was sexting with a woman online. Then the blackmail began. - LGBTQ Nation
"Police arrested a 23-year-old man, Jauan Wright, for allegedly impersonating a woman online in order to get explicit nude images from an unnamed student at Louisiana State University (LSU) in the capital city of Baton Rouge, WBRZ reported. The student said he met Wright online, initially believing him to be a woman. Only after sharing nude images of himself did he discover that Wright was a man, he told the LSU police department in a complaint filed on November 23."
"Wright allegedly began threatening to send the student's images to the student's friends and family unless Wright had sex with him. The student reportedly had sex with Wright and, at some point, Wright allegedly recorded the student showering naked without the student's knowledge or consent. Afterward, Wright allegedly began contacting the student and his mother from anonymous messaging accounts, even sending the student's mother a copy of the shower video."
"Wright reportedly demanded that the student pay him $250 over Apple Pay in an extortion attempt. Police arrested Wright on December 5, charges of extortion and nonconsensual disclosure of a private image. A somewhat similar 2015 case in the U.K. involved a woman named Gayle Newland who was accused of pretending to be a man and duping a woman into having sex with her."
