He allegedly ran a criminal empire at his Calif. mansion. Then came the FBI.
"In August 2021, Ryan Chapell allegedly received an email to help orchestrate a 21st birthday party for Adam Iza, a young but seemingly successful cryptocurrency businessman based in Bel-Air. The party planner, who had an Instagram following of about 20,000, including notable celebrities, didn't think anything was terribly out of the ordinary. But little did he know that Iza "is a lifelong criminal who aspired to be a quasi-Mafioso figure in the mold of Tony Montana from the movie Scarface," according to a lawsuit."
"After Iza paid Chapell about $50,000 a few days before the event, the planner spent $45,000, netting a modest profit of $5,000 for his services, an August 2025 lawsuit alleges. The party was thrown later that month at Iza's lavish mansion, just as they had agreed upon, the suit says. But a few days later, Iza allegedly suddenly said he was unhappy with the event and demanded to speak with Chapell."
Ryan Chapell was hired to plan a 21st birthday party for Adam Iza in August 2021 and received about $50,000 shortly before the event. Chapell spent $45,000 on the party and earned roughly $5,000. The celebration occurred at Iza's Bel-Air mansion as arranged. Days later, Iza complained, demanded half the cost back, and summoned Chapell to his estate. Iza introduced private bodyguards who displayed apparent Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department badges and were employed as deputies. Chapell observed Iza loading bullets and saw a handgun and an AR-15 on a desk. Chapell is seeking $50 million and a jury trial for alleged physical and emotional injuries.
