Rep. Michael McCaul criticized the rapid leaking of intelligence in the current administration, particularly regarding military actions against Iran. He noted that Trump’s claims of completely destroying nuclear facilities were inaccurate and instead, the strikes only caused temporary setbacks. McCaul emphasized the importance of intelligence accuracy for future negotiations, expressing understanding of the administration's frustration at the leaks. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned the leaks as an attack on Trump’s credibility and the pilots involved in the strikes, despite CNN’s report being corroborated by other outlets.
It's unfortunate that intelligence gets leaked so quickly in this administration... it did cause significant damage, and that's important in terms of a time to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump... Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.
Trump's strikes on Iran failed to take out the country's nuclear facilities... they set them back maybe a few months, tops.
McCaul stated that it was never to completely destroy these three facilities... but rather cause significant damage, knowing it would be a temporary setback.
