"PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania -- Whether it's an ornament at the bottom of the box, or a nutcracker collecting dust in the attic, hand-me-down decorations can find a new home thanks to one local high school student and his mom. Grant Benedum and his mom, Christine, created a mission called, 'Giving Garland,' earlier this year. They have partnered with Norwood-Fontbonne Academy and Our Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Chestnut Hill to collect decorations from students, parishioners, and their families."
"The result has been a roaring success so far. And they were already able to make a donation to 'Women Against Abuse' for a shelter in Philadelphia. The family, who is from Glenside, will continue to accept donations through the end of January 2026. To learn more about 'Giving Garland,' watch the video above and visit their website."
