"According to police, Varun Suresh, 29, on Thursday tracked David Brimmer, of Fremont, using the Megan's Law website, a state database which tracks the home addresses of registered sex offenders, in a plan to stab him to death. The fatal incident police originally reported as a fight on Thursday in a hillside neighborhood near Mission Peak was the result of Suresh's pre-planned plot to kill child molesters and sex offenders, according to court documents."
"Suresh considered race when selecting his victim, first attempting to find an Indian-race sex offender while searching the database on his phone, according to police. He wanted someone who is easy to kill and the murder to be apolitical, he allegedly told police. Authorities said he settled on Brimmer, a 71-year-old white man who lived near the 600 block of Upper Vintners Circle because white guys are so much more graceful."
"He also reportedly sought someone worthy' of being killed, believing that the worse their original crime, the more justified the murder, records show. Posing as a door-to-door accountant looking for clients just before noon Thursday, Suresh knocked on several doors to cover up his ruse before arriving at the victim's house, according to police. He carried a bag, notebook, a coffee and a concealed black knife with the word GERBER written on it, police said."
