Jessica Leslie, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal contempt for leaking information from top-secret grand jury proceedings. Prosecutors said she shared sensitive details with a friend who posted them to social media, revealing the identity of witnesses, appearance dates, and testimony topics from two matters between Aug. 11, 2022, and March 4, 2024. One matter included the closed federal probe of Read's murder and another involved the Massachusetts State Police. As part of her plea, prosecutors and defense recommended a one-day sentence deemed served, but U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani sentenced her to two months home confinement and two years probation. Leslie was fired from the state Department of Children and Families.
