
"During the search of the vehicle, officers recovered a firearm, counterfeit government identification, drug paraphernalia and additional evidence suggesting the driver may have been impersonating a federal agent," Alameda police wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday night. Police posted several pictures of the recovered items, which include a black tactical vest with the word 'Agent' written on the back, a black handgun, handcuffs, three gold law enforcement-style badges, and multiple ID cards."

In a Facebook post, Alameda police say an automated license plate reader notified them that a stolen vehicle was traveling near the Marina Village Shopping Center. An officer then made contact with the vehicle and its driver. The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, but when officers began searching the vehicle things take a disturbing turn."

Alameda police responded to an automated license plate reader alert identifying a stolen vehicle near the Marina Village Shopping Center. An officer contacted the vehicle and arrested the driver for possession of a stolen vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a firearm, counterfeit government identification, drug paraphernalia and other items suggesting possible impersonation of a federal agent. Recovered property included a tactical vest labeled 'Agent', a handgun, handcuffs, multiple gold badges and ID cards. The impersonation allegation is being investigated and the case remains active as police probe the full scope of the suspect's actions.
