DK Metcalf Suspended Two Games For Punching A Really Annoying Guy | Defector
"NFL insider Tom Pelissero spoke to a "source close to Metcalf" after the game who said that the fan called Metcalf's mom a derogatory word and called Metcalf "something we both know you don't call a black man.""
""My name is 'Biggest Detroit Lions Fan Ever that got attacked by DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf.'""
""What, my full name isn't is DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf," Kennedy said. "He doesn't like his government name. I called him that and then he grabbed me and ripped my shirt. I'm a little shocked. Like everyone's talking to me. I'm a little rattled, but I just want the Lions to win, baby.""
DK Metcalf was suspended two games by the NFL for an in-game altercation in which he grabbed a Lions fan by the collar and struck him. The fan, wearing a blue wig and leaning over the railing, was shouting at Metcalf; a source close to Metcalf said the fan used a derogatory slur toward Metcalf's mother and called Metcalf something one does not call a Black man. The fan identified himself as Ryan Kennedy of Pinckney, Michigan, and said he was shocked after Metcalf tore his shirt. Metcalf is appealing. A suspension could allow the Steelers to avoid paying $45 million in remaining guaranteed money if they release him.
