"My message is that our team is, I think we have a good football team that can do some big things still this year,"
"We've got to prove it. We've got to go do it."
"To this point, it's been just me being able to focus on football, and I appreciate that,"
"doing really well"
Kalen DeBoer says Alabama still has a good football team capable of big things despite a surprising 31-17 season-opening loss at Florida State. The loss marked the Crimson Tide's fifth defeat in their past 10 games under DeBoer, who was hired in January 2024 to replace Nick Saban. DeBoer went 9-4 in his first season. Alabama has lost four times as a double-digit favorite in DeBoer's first 14 games and fell from No. 8 to No. 21 in the AP poll. Tim Keenan III (ankle) and tailback Jam Miller (collarbone) are out; receiver Ryan Williams is questionable with a concussion.
