
"A U.S. Coast Guard representative told the Daily News the body of the rookie deckhand who fell overboard last week off the coast of Alaska was released by the Anchorage Medical Examiner's Office Monday after an autopsy was performed. Authorities in Juneau were notified late Wednesday afternoon that Meadows fell from the the Aleutian Lady fishing boat in the Bering Sea."
"When first responders reportedly located Meadows 10 minutes later, they unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate the 25-year-old victim. As the nation's leading marine safety organization, the Coast Guard investigates marine casualties and accidents to uncover their causes and initiate necessary corrective actions, a Public Affairs Officer said in a statement sent Tuesday evening."
Todd Meadows, a 25-year-old rookie deckhand featured on the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, fell overboard from the fishing vessel Aleutian Lady in the Bering Sea off Alaska's coast. First responders located him approximately 10 minutes after the incident but were unable to resuscitate him. The U.S. Coast Guard, which investigates marine casualties to determine causes and implement corrective measures, is conducting an official investigation. An autopsy was performed, and Meadows' body was released by the Anchorage Medical Examiner's Office. The incident occurred during filming of the show's 22nd season, and production on the upcoming season has concluded.
