Emilio Salem Ghanem, 40, was last seen May 25, 2023, at a Starbucks in Redlands and had recently parted ways with His Way Spirit Led Assemblies. Ghanem worked for a pest control company owned by the Hemet-based group; his rented Nissan Frontier was identified on surveillance in Grand Terrace and later recovered with evidence. The pickup was rented from Las Vegas, and Ghanem had been staying at a Moreno Valley vacation rental. New leads emerged after investigators connected the case to another missing member, Ruben Moreno, who was last seen in 2017 at a group gathering and later reported missing.
Emilio Salem Ghanem, 40, of Nashville, was last seen on May 25, 2023, in a Starbucks at 625 E. Redlands Blvd. in Redlands, a city in San Bernardino County, around 60 miles east of Los Angeles. Ghanem had recently parted ways with His Way Spirit Led Assemblies and also worked at a pest control company owned and operated by the Hemet-based group, the Redlands Police Department said.
The case went quiet for two years until earlier this month when Redlands police announced that new leads were being followed in light of another missing member of His Way Spirit Led Assemblies. That case is being investigated by the Claremont Police Department, which said a 41-year-old man named Ruben Moreno from Perris was reported missing in August 2019 but was last seen in 2017 at a gathering place of His Way Spirit Led Assemblies. Moreno lived with members of the group, Claremont police said.
