According to estimates from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), China is rapidly expanding its nuclear arsenal, adding approximately 100 warheads annually since 2023. This growth could allow China to match the number of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) held by the US and Russia by 2030. Currently, China's stockpile is estimated at over 600 nuclear warheads, with projections suggesting a rise to a maximum of 1,500 by 2035. While China continues to develop its nuclear capabilities, it will still lag behind the US and Russia regarding total warhead counts in the near future.
