The suspect also allegedly told his son he would hide the body and surrender to authorities, the son said. His parents had argued as Romero was driving Alcantar to work that afternoon, the son told the station. Four days later, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office charged Alcantar with one count of murder, court records show."

Police said the two were in a dating relationship, while a GoFundMe identified the suspect as the father of the women's five children, ranging in age from 16 to 26."
Erik Alcantar, 44, is accused of killing Aracely Romero, 45, following a domestic dispute in Long Beach on Nov. 8. Police say the dispute occurred in a car while Romero was driving Alcantar to work. Alcantar then drove to Tijuana and turned himself in; Mexican authorities found Romero's body in the vehicle. A son said Alcantar called that night and allegedly admitted to the killing, saying he would hide the body and surrender. The Los Angeles County District Attorney charged Alcantar with one count of murder. Romero was the mother of five children and described by family as loving and selfless. Police requested tips from the public.
