At least two people were killed and eight are critically injured following a shooting at Brown University on December 13. The suspect remains not in custody and is believed to be at large. Brown University urged people to shelter in place. Initial reports mistakenly indicated a suspect was in custody; a Truth Social post later claiming custody was reversed. FBI personnel were on scene. Rhode Island Hospital reported eight critical but stable patients. Providence authorities continued to search for the shooter as emergency response and investigations proceeded.
