Gervonta 'Tank' Davis was arrested in Miami Beach on a domestic violence charge after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend on Father's Day. The altercation occurred as he attempted to pick up their children. According to reports, Davis hit the woman in the head and slapped her, causing injury. Davis, 30, was taken into custody in Miami Beach and booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
Police say the World Boxing Association lightweight boxing champion went to his former girlfriend's home in Doral on the night of 15 June to pick up their two children.
The victim sent a text to her mother during the incident, saying Davis was assaulting her. When the mother came outside, she saw her daughter crying and arguing with Davis.
The arrest adds to Davis's history of legal trouble, including a 2020 domestic battery charge and jail time related to a 2021 hit-and-run crash in Baltimore.
