Kalen DeBoer rejected interest in other head-coaching positions and emphasized commitment to Alabama, calling the program a place he loves and enjoys the challenge. DeBoer is 19-6 in his second season and the Crimson Tide are ranked ninth entering the SEC championship game against No. 3 Georgia. Penn State fired James Franklin on Oct. 12 and continues a coaching search after starting 3-3, while several coaches linked to that vacancy agreed to extensions at their current schools. Starting defensive end LT Overton and reserve defensive tackle Kelby Collins will not play against Georgia because of unspecified illnesses or medical conditions. Overton has 33 tackles and four sacks this season.
