Assault at downtown Saratoga cafe leads to arrest
"At 12:41 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious person call in the 18000 block of Purdue Drive. An investigation revealed the suspect had trespassed and peered into a home through a glass door. Further investigation revealed the same suspect also broke into a vehicle in the 13000 block of Quito Road. Deputies located the suspect on a bike a short time later and attempted to stop them, but the suspect fled on foot until eventually being found in the backyard of a residence."
"Vehicle tampering, vandalism: Between Aug. 17 and Aug. 29, someone tampered with a vehicle parked in the 18000 block of Cabernet Drive and punched in the key lock of the driver's side door. The damage was estimated at over $400. Stolen vehicle: Between 10 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 29, someone stole a vehicle parked in the 18000 block of Afton Avenue."
On Aug. 23, someone entered a vehicle on Montpere Way using unknown means, stealing a laptop and tools valued at about $6,100. On Aug. 26, deputies responded to a suspicious person on Purdue Drive; investigation found the suspect trespassed, peered through a glass door, and broke into a vehicle on Quito Road; deputies chased and arrested the suspect who had burglary tools and two outstanding warrants. On Aug. 28, an unlocked vehicle on Hammons Avenue was entered and a wallet worth about $287 was taken; cards were unsuccessfully used. Between Aug. 17–29, a vehicle on Cabernet Drive had its key lock punched and another vehicle was stolen from Afton Avenue. On Aug. 29, a suspect at Sue's Gallery Café made criminal threats and assaulted a victim and was arrested.
