"Our family has been coming here for many years and now we can count it as six generations."
"You never hear anyone say this is too old, we should tear it down. I've had people say how wonderful it is that we're keeping it up and running."
"I love hearing the laughter of the kids in the park all summer long, but when fall comes, we hear the screams!"
Bushkill Park in Easton, Pennsylvania opened in 1902 and includes Hilarity Hall, a funhouse built around 1914 that is believed to be the country's oldest. Visitors climb rickety stairs, pass original folk art, and attempt the famous rotating barrel walkway originally called the Barrel of Fun. The park operates year-round with an arena for birthday parties, a skate rink, music stages, and vintage carousels. In October the grounds transform into a haunted attraction with actors in makeup and clown garb, a deserted village, and a maze. Park management and generations of families maintain the attraction as a legacy of traditional family entertainment.
