"Our investment underscores Optimum's dedication to Tyler's people and institutions,"
"We're proud to deliver future-proof fiber connections that empower first responders, government entities, and businesses with exceptional reliability. This partnership reflects our ongoing promise to serve and strengthen the Tyler community for years to come."
"We're upgrading to multi-gigabit speeds via mid-split technology on our DOCSIS 3.1 network,"
Optimum will invest $4.4 million to construct 40 miles of fiber routes in Tyler, Texas, upgrading emergency and government infrastructure and continuing a 15-year partnership with the city. The fiber network will improve reliability and communications redundancy for police stations, fire departments, and major government buildings to keep critical services connected. The project builds on a previous $4.6 million network transformation investment from August 2024 and will enable gigabit speeds and future enhancements when completed. Optimum will expand fiber access for local hospitals, businesses, Smith County, and Tyler schools. The broader upgrade plan targets multi-gigabit speeds using fiber broadband and DOCSIS, including mid-split technology on DOCSIS 3.1.
