The Las Vegas Sphere opened in 2023 and has hosted major artist residencies and film presentations. A smaller Sphere, seating 6,000, will be constructed at National Harbor in Maryland and will retain the signature Exosphere covered in LEDs. National Harbor already includes a casino and the Capital Wheel. Sphere Entertainment projects 2,500 construction jobs and 4,750 permanent jobs and expects millions in additional revenue for the county and state. State and county officials describe the project as a major economic development effort for Prince George's County. No opening date has been announced. Plans for a Sphere in London were announced in 2024.
