8-month-old baby survives fentanyl exposure after quick action by mother
""When I picked her up, she was nodding out," Collins said."
""Immediately, she started crying," Collins said."
""It literally looked like a kid's sticker," Collins said."
""Until they got our urine test, they had to do a safety plan, so he wasn't allowed home alone with his kids. And at one point, he was crying because he's like, 'This is totally unfair,'" Collins said."
An 8-month-old named Greta was found nodding out on Nov. 14 after apparent exposure to fentanyl in a Pennsville home. Her mother, Mattie Collins, called 911 and enlisted a neighbor paramedic; responding medics administered Narcan and the infant immediately began crying. Collins discovered a wax fold stamped with the Marvel character Venom that resembled a child's sticker; investigators later identified the item as fentanyl. An HVAC technician had been working in the house earlier and became a person of interest; police executed a search warrant and involved drug dogs and child protection officials. Urine and hair tests were negative and no charges were filed.
