2 officers injured when cruisers collide after gas station armed robbery in Randolph, department says

An armed robbery occurred at Prestige Gas on North Main Street in Randolph around 1:20 p.m. A suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall Black man wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, blue or olive shorts, black and white sneakers, black gloves, and a blue Red Sox hat over a ski mask, carrying a light gray plastic bag, and allegedly armed with a black semiautomatic handgun. The suspect fled on foot. During the search, two police cruisers collided at the intersection of Mitchell and Royal streets. Officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Prestige did not return a request for comment. Both the robbery and the cruiser crash are under investigation by Randolph police.

After a gas station in Randolph was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, two police cruisers collided while searching for the fleeing suspect, police said. Around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Randolph police said officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at Prestige Gas on North Main Street. When searching for the man, two police cruisers collided at the intersection of Mitchell and Royal streets. The officers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
