Opinion of US has worsened in countries around world in last year, survey shows
Briefly

A recent Pew Research Center survey of over 28,000 individuals across 24 countries revealed that only 34% of respondents have confidence in Donald Trump as a world leader. The poll indicated a negative shift towards US attitudes, especially in countries like Mexico and Sweden. While some nations like Nigeria and Kenya displayed higher confidence levels, overall sentiments were marked by perceptions of Trump as arrogant and dangerous. Majorities expressed discontent with his ability to address critical global issues, including climate change, US immigration, and international relations.
Only in five countries did a majority say they had some or a lot of confidence in Trump to do the right thing: Nigeria (79%), Kenya (74%), Israel (69%), Hungary (53%) and India (52%).
The survey of over 28,000 people found that opinions of the US had worsened in over half the countries polled, especially in Mexico and Sweden.
In contrast, the figure for the UK had dropped from 54% to 50%, indicating a general decline in confidence in Trump's leadership across various nations.
Majorities across all countries expressed little or no confidence in Trump's ability to handle significant global issues, most notably climate change.
