Congress is probing ActBlue's fundraising practices, with particular focus on its collaboration with Sift, an AI fraud prevention firm. House Oversight Chair James Comer and others express concern that ActBlue's lenient standards may have enabled foreign or fraudulent donations, citing vulnerabilities in their anti-fraud protocols. In response, ActBlue insists it has been a secure platform for over two decades, denouncing the inquiry as a politically motivated attack tied to ongoing Republican efforts to suppress Democratic fundraising efforts, particularly in light of an executive order from President Trump aiming to scrutinize illicit donations.
ActBlue has maintained poor anti-fraud practices that may have allowed bad actors to make fraudulent political donations, including from foreign sources.
This continued targeting of ActBlue and our partners by MAGA Republicans needs to be seen for what it is: Donald Trump's latest front in his campaign to stamp out all political, electoral and ideological opposition.
