Karen Lawrence, 66, was sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid work for embezzling 99,659.12 through a mortgage and pension fraud scheme. She impersonated her husband, John, using a male voice during calls to deceive staff at financial institutions. Lawrence had previously pleaded guilty to the fraudulent scheme. In addition to the community payback order, she will be under supervision for two years and has a six-month restriction of liberty order from 8pm to 6am.
