The Independent solicits donations to fund on-the-ground journalism across topics including reproductive rights, climate change, and Big Tech while keeping reporting free of paywalls. Donations support investigative reporting into matters such as Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC and a documentary spotlighting American women fighting for reproductive rights. The High Court will determine whether the Home Office lawfully proscribed Palestine Action under anti-terrorism laws. Palestine Action co-founder Huda Ammori has launched legal action against the department over then-home secretary Yvette Cooper's decision to list the group under the Terrorism Act 2000. The proscription followed alleged break-ins at RAF Brize Norton and a history of direct actions targeting arms manufacturers.
