Wes Streeting denies blocking trans youth organisation on social media
Briefly

Wes Streeting denied blocking the Trans Kids Deserve Better Instagram account, with a spokesperson saying the account has not been blocked and accusing the group of misleading supporters. A member claimed in a video that the health secretary blocked the group's only social media profile and silenced their voices. The group has staged multiple protests at NHS England headquarters, the Department of Education, the Equality and Human Rights Commission in Glasgow and a die-in at the UK Supreme Court. The group's activism focuses on opposing Streeting's extension of a ban on NHS puberty blockers for transgender youth.
In a video posted last week, a member of Trans Kids Deserve Better accused the health secretary of failing to listen to them by blocking its Instagram, the group's only social media profile, earlier this month. "Not only have you chosen neglect over love but you've taken a childish and immature act to silence our voices online," the anonymous member claimed.
Last year, members of Trans Kids Deserve Better protested on the window ledges of NHS England's headquarters in central London. The group, which aims to highlight injustices against transgender youngsters, has also protested outside the Department of Education, in London, and the Equality and Human Rights Commission office in Glasgow. Most recently, members staged a die-in outside the UK Supreme Court building in the capital.
