We're extremely happy about the results, they've gone even better than we expected. There's still a lot more votes to count but so far, it's going to be a really good night for the Liberal Democrats.
We are the party of middle England now, and I'm really proud of what our councillors have achieved and what they're going to achieve as they work hard for their local communities.
I'm expecting that we will take control of one or more councils from the Conservatives when all the votes are counted.
