Last year recorded the fewest homicides of victims aged under 25 this century. The under-25 homicide rate is three times lower than in 2019 and hospital admissions of young people for knife assault have fallen by 43%. Casualty departments report far fewer assault-related injuries and December West End footfall increased. Recent survey data indicate well over 80% of Londoners feel safe, while non-residents tend to perceive higher danger.
