A network of walk-in GP services will provide one million additional appointments across Scotland, operating seven days a week from noon to 20:00 to ease the 08:00 rush. The scheme will begin at 15 sites and expand nationwide, with the first site due within a year. A sponsorship scheme will enable overseas social care workers to work, pay tax, and support care homes facing staffing shortages. An asserted 80% fall in overseas nurse recruitment and the shutdown of a visa route for care home staff have worsened workforce pressures. A commitment to Scottish independence and criticism of Westminster policies were also expressed.
