Reform UK to ban Pride flags being flown from council buildings
Briefly

Reform UK, a right-wing political party, aims to prohibit councils from flying Pride and Ukraine flags, limiting them to the union jack, St George's flag, and regional flags. This move has drawn criticism, particularly from Labour MP James Frith, who highlighted its timing shortly after VE Day, a tribute to allied WWII efforts. Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, holds governance in 10 councils across England and positions itself as a patriotic alternative to Labour, emphasizing pride in British history amidst accusations of extreme anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
Reform UK will proudly fly the union jack, St George’s flag and county flags. Unlike Labour, we are proud of our country and history.
On VE Day, we remember Britain’s proud tradition of standing with allies against tyrants. It speaks volumes that Reform's first act after their election gains is to ban the Ukrainian flag.
No other flags will be permitted to be flown on its flagpoles, balconies, reception desks or council chamber walls.
George Jones, who runs events for Reform, was caught on camera... calling a Pride flag displayed on a police car a 'f**king degenerate flag.'
