Reform UK suspended Northumberland county councillor John Allen pending an investigation into alleged online comments calling for the killing of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The suspension followed material presented after an investigation by antifascist group Hope not Hate alleging that a YouTube account, @johnallen7807, repeatedly called for Starmer to be killed and included posts suggesting the handle belonged to Allen. Posts included: 'Five armed police??? I'd shoot Starmer myself if I had the weapon and opportunity!' and 'I can't wait to see Starmer swinging from a lamp post.' Allen declined to confirm account ownership and said he would not comment on private information.
