Reform council leader accused of racism after alleged remarks about Sadiq Khan
"a black British lawyer should have F'd off back to Nigeria."
"No foreign national or first generation migrant should be allowed to sit in parliament."
"You are neither ethnically, culturally or historically English. Your diaspora isn't NW European. All you have is a piece of paper entitling you to British citizenship."
Ian Cooper, leader of Staffordshire county council and a Reform UK figure, is accused of making racist and xenophobic social media posts targeting Sadiq Khan, David Lammy, broadcaster Sangita Myska, a black British lawyer and migrants. Messages attributed to Cooper reportedly described Khan as a narcissistic Pakistani, called London a '3rd world shit hole', urged a black British lawyer to return to Nigeria, and asserted that no foreign national or first-generation migrant should sit in parliament. Nigel Farage's party is conducting an urgent internal investigation into Cooper's non-disclosure of social accounts. Two other Reform UK politicians were suspended last month over offensive messages.
