Reeves inadvertently breached rules on gifts, says MPs' watchdog
Briefly

Chancellor Rachel Reeves missed the deadline for registering gifts, violating parliamentary rules. She referred herself to the parliamentary commissioner after failing to declare National Theatre tickets within 28 days. These included two tickets and a dinner valued at 265, plus four tickets valued at 276 for future performances. Reeves attributed the oversight to ambiguity regarding her ministerial and parliamentary roles. The inquiry closed after Reeves apologized and committed to registering such gifts appropriately. Daniel Greenberg confirmed a breach of rule five of the MPs' code of conduct.

The investigation related to two donations made by the National Theatre in central London, valued at 265 and 276, for performances in 2024.
