The figure exceeds last summer's 2,942 protests and is triple 2023's 928 demonstrations. Protests focused on hotels housing asylum seekers and reactions to the Home Office designation of Palestine Action as a terrorist group. Police prepared for up to 40 further protests in one weekend, including a London demonstration where up to 1,000 people planned to risk arrest. A police wellbeing survey found 55% of constables experiencing persistent physical fatigue, increasing chronic operational pressure.
