Bruce Fanjoy's victory in Carleton over long-time Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is seen as improbable, stemming from his grassroots approach focusing on affordability, housing, and climate action. With a background in high-level positions at major companies, Fanjoy transitioned to politics by challenging Poilievre, motivated by a perceived need for a fresh voice in the riding. His positive campaign resonated with voters despite over 90 names on the ballot, garnering significant support. Prime Minister Mark Carney acknowledged his win, reflecting its notable impact in Canadian politics.
