A four-year pilot youth work initiative will place three part-time youth workers on the Aran Islands in Co Galway. The workers will be assigned to Inis Mór, Inis Meáin, and Inis Oírr to deliver locally led youth work services in Irish. A €300,000 investment is provided by the Education and Youth Department in partnership with GRETB and Muintearas UBU Your Place, Your Space. The programme will offer accessible support to young people through the Irish language and within their home communities. Wellbeing and on-island resources will be prioritised. Data gathered will inform future policy development and help continue youth work services on the islands.
