"We equivocally deny that any representative appointed by George engaged in intimating or disruptive behaviour."
"Charlie Kirk got shot, let's f****** go."
"Charlie Kirk got shot, loool."
Oxford Union president-elect George Abaraonye lost a no-confidence vote after 1,228 members voted to remove him and 501 voted in support. Abaraonye alleged the poll was compromised, claiming the returning officer had shared the email account collecting proxy votes and that votes may have been tampered with. Proceedings were informally suspended amid allegations that the returning officer faced obstruction, intimidation and hostility. Abaraonye denied that any appointed representative engaged in intimidating behaviour. The vote followed backlash over his WhatsApp and Instagram messages celebrating the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, and the Union stated it firmly opposed all forms of political violence.
