Nigel Farage targeting six London council wins for Reform in elections as he says capital 'in big trouble'
"Reform is investing in the bid to win hearts and minds in the capital, and according to Mr Farage, it has a very real chance of winning half a dozen of the 32 boroughs in London. Amongst its key targets are Bromley, Bexley, Havering and Barking and Dagenham. Mr Farage intends to launch Reform's London campaign at an event at the Excel centre next month."
"London is in big, big, big, big trouble, he said. Sadiq Khan, the current mayor of London, is one of Mr Farage's key political targets. Absolutely, at the heart of our campaign in London is law and order. Crime is everywhere and Sadiq's record is one of almost not caring about it. It is remarkable. And the Tories' record I'm afraid 87 per cent of police stations in London closed under the Conservatives."
Reform UK is targeting London in the May local elections with a primary focus on law and order and hopes to win roughly six of the capital's 32 boroughs. Key borough targets include Bromley, Bexley, Havering and Barking and Dagenham. The London campaign will launch at an event at the ExCeL centre next month. Reform expects Labour's vote to be split by Greens, Corbyn-aligned and Gaza-independent candidates, which could damage Labour's performance. The campaign criticizes both the mayor and the Conservatives for poor crime records, citing widespread crime, police station closures and a decline in police numbers since 2010.
