Newly-married MPs celebrate 'beautiful' wedding
Briefly

Labour MPs Jeevun Sandher (Loughborough) and Louise Jones (North East Derbyshire) married in August in ceremonies that combined both partners' cultural traditions. The couple celebrated over a week to accommodate events from each heritage. Jones will change her surname to Sandher-Jones and update social media handles, while retaining her parliamentary email for the time being. Sandher proposed at home last year and their engagement was announced in the Commons by Leader of the House Lucy Powell. The pair first met campaigning in Loughborough in January 2023 and said mutual understanding of political life underpins their relationship.
Over August, I married my wonderful partner, Jeevun Sandher!
We had a beautiful wedding that brought together traditions from our two different heritages which made it all the more special as we start the next chapter of our shared future.
I think we understand each other's lives incredibly well,
If Louise was to say to me 'oh, look, we have to cut these plans because of this reason,' I would completely understand - and vice versa.
