"Stop calling this a war. There is no parity of power. Israel is one of the most powerful, nuclear-armed militaries on earth, funded, equipped and backed unconditionally by the single most powerful, nuclear-armed military in the history of the world. This is genocide"
"Israel bombed the international airports of Aleppo and Damascus in Syria, forcing them out of service. Bombing civilian airports in Syria. Massacring entire families in Gaza. Dropping white phosphorus on Lebanon and Gaza. This is the Israel that Western media tells you is a 'victim'"
"The world said never again and here we are again 79 years later. A classic case of the abused becomes the abuser no?"
A detective sergeant attached to the Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Policing Command shared overtly political, unbalanced and antisemitic material about the Israel–Gaza conflict on a private Instagram account with more than 100 followers. The officer reshared an image comparing apparent Gaza victims labelled Palestine 2024 with apparent Nazi concentration camp victims labelled Germany 1945, captioned "The world said never again and here we are again 79 years later," and commented "A classic case of the abused becomes the abuser no?" The officer accepted that "abused" referred to Jewish people, bringing the post within the IHRA definition of antisemitism. Other posts described the conflict as genocide and alleged Israel bombed Syrian airports, massacred families in Gaza and used white phosphorus. The officer was anonymously reported in May 2024 and a misconduct panel heard the case on January 12 and 13.
