Mr. O'Donovan criticized a proposed content levy by Comisiún na Meán, which was intended to fund independent productions in Ireland. O'Donovan emphasized that with the significant funding already provided to RTÉ from taxpayers, there is no need for additional levies on consumers. I don't see any reason to put a levy on them at the moment and charge them any more, to be quite honest about it.
I'm going to redress that by way of the Broadcasting Bill. People, as I say, are paying enough at the moment.
