Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Harris, confirmed that two Irish diplomats in Jenin are safe following an incident where the IDF fired shots near their delegation. Harris directly contacted the Irish representative in the Palestinian National Authority to express support and has also communicated with Israel's ambassador regarding his strong condemnation of the breach of diplomatic protections. The incident was described as 'utterly reprehensible' by Harris, who demanded an investigation and insisted on accountability for any IDF personnel involved. The Israeli military claimed the diplomats deviated from an approved route, which sparked the gunfire.
