Hundreds of security staff based at the Palace of Westminster who are members of PCS will walk out between 07:00 BST and 19:00 on each of the next two Wednesdays and Thursdays. The union cites the employer's removal of six days' annual leave from members' contracts, pay stagnation and a widening ethnicity pay gap as primary grievances. During the action, public ticket-holders for Prime Minister's Questions will be unable to enter and parliamentary pass holders will not be permitted to bring guests onto the estate. Additional action short of a strike, including an overtime ban and work-to-rule, will continue until 12 September. Parliament and the Met Police have implemented contingency plans and say they remain committed to resolving the concerns while prioritising safety and security.
