Fourth Tory councillor defects to Reform
"I am proud to be joining Reform UK as I believe it is the only party serious about fixing the problems facing our country. It is a party that recognises Britain is broken and is offering the bold, common sense plan needed to put it right."
"I had previously joined the Conservatives to get Brexit done and to level up communities like Stoke-on-Trent. However, like so many loyal members and voters, I've watched promise after promise broken."
Carl Edwards, a Conservative councillor representing Baddeley, Milton & Norton ward in Stoke-on-Trent, has defected to Reform UK. Edwards stated he originally joined the Conservatives to achieve Brexit and level up communities like Stoke-on-Trent, but became disillusioned after witnessing repeated broken promises. He believes Brexit was not properly delivered and levelling up became merely an empty slogan. Edwards now views Reform UK as the only party serious about fixing the country's problems with a bold, common sense plan. The Conservative group leader acknowledged the decision with disappointment but respected his choice and thanked him for his service.
