""Hitler was right" and "gas them""
""misspoken in my life, in my younger days, when I was a child""
""Well, suddenly after 49 years they seem to have perfect recollection. I would say to you there is a strong political element to this.""
""This is a man who has power, influence, has had a massive impact on the direction of this country, for which, you know, hats off to him. And he is being fundamentally dishonest in everything that he says there. So I feel upset and angry about that.""
Peter Ettedgui, a Jewish former classmate, says Nigel Farage repeatedly told him "Hitler was right" and "gas them" while they were teenagers at Dulwich College. More than a dozen former pupils from the late 1970s and early 1980s claim they witnessed racist behaviour by Farage. Farage denied directly racially abusing anybody and said he had probably "misspoken in my life, in my younger days, when I was a child". He suggested the allegations had a political element and said those making them were not telling the truth. Ettedgui called Farage "fundamentally dishonest" and said he felt upset and angry. The claims were first reported in The Guardian.
