Kemi Badenoch has been linked to an offer to study medicine at Stanford at age 16, sometimes described as pre-medicine, and to a partial scholarship. Stanford does not offer undergraduate medicine or a pre-med degree; medicine is only available to graduates. Conservatives later said Badenoch had been offered places by several US universities, including Stanford, based on strong standardized test results despite not applying. Jon Reider, the Stanford admissions officer responsible for international students and bursaries at the time, said he did not offer Badenoch a place, that offers would not have been made on test scores alone, and that O-levels and age 16 would have been insufficient.
Although 30 years have passed, I would definitely remember if we had admitted a Nigerian student with any financial aid. The answer is that we did not do so.
I assure you that we would not have admitted a student based on test scores alone, nor would we have mailed an invitation to apply to any overseas students based on test scores.
