Annabel Rook, co-founder and head of the women's charity MamaSuze, was found fatally injured in Stoke Newington following a gas explosion early on June 17. The 46-year-old's death has been ruled as domestic-related, and a 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Rook's charity aims to assist victims of forced displacement and gender-based violence via arts programs. Police presence will be heightened in the community as investigations continue, with support offered to local residents affected by the tragedy.
'This is an extremely tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim's family... we do believe this to be a domestic-related incident,' said Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke.
The charity MamaSuze, co-founded by Annabel Rook, focuses on helping victims of forced displacement and gender-based violence using creative workshops.
