"Former high-flying corporate lawyer, Bartholomew Gold, died in December 2020, aged just 43, leaving behind his widow, Phikul Harte, 43, and a spectacular 2m beachside home with its own boathouse in Hampshire. Mr Gold, who was previously a rising star with top City law firm Field Fisher, died without making a will and under the laws of intestacy his estate stood to be split between his widow and a teenage son from his previous marriage."
"A bitter court dispute was triggered after 434,134 "mistakenly" ended up in the account of Mrs Gomez, 49, leading the masseuse to claim that her dead husband's ex-wife had gone on to dissipate and misappropriate the cash. A judge last year ordered Mrs Gomez to pay back the money, but after she failed to do so, Mr Gold's widow is now suing in a bid to extend an order freezing his ex's assets."
Bartholomew Gold, a 43-year-old corporate lawyer, died intestate in December 2020, leaving a £2 million Hampshire estate. Under intestacy laws, his assets were to be divided between his widow Phikul Harte and a teenage son from his previous marriage to Marsha Gomez. A dispute arose when £434,134 mistakenly transferred to Gomez's account. Harte alleges Gomez misappropriated and dissipated the funds through speculative investments and gifts. A judge previously ordered Gomez to repay the money, but she failed to comply. Harte now seeks to extend asset-freezing orders against Gomez to recover the funds.
